Application Control Core is the protection core inside AURUS Maintenance.
It does more than show a list of installed programs. The core helps understand what changed in the system: what was installed, updated, removed, restored after deletion and which processes may have started it.
Available in AURUS Shield PRO
Application Control Core belongs to the extended AURUS Maintenance protection layer and is available in the PRO version.
Basic keeps the essential maintenance and clear protection features. Deep app control, Shield Journal, manual policies, extended AdBlock rules and installer-origin reports belong to AURUS Shield PRO.
Why it matters
Advertising is not always just a banner on a web page. It can arrive through silent installers, updater or helper processes, browser extensions, toolbars, office packages, security suites or changes to hosts, DNS, proxy and startup.
What the core does
Application Control compares app snapshots and highlights new apps, updated apps, removed apps, apps restored after deletion, silent installers, AppData/Temp/ProgramData components, updater/helper/service processes and apps that need Shield attention.
How it works with AdBlock Core
AdBlock Core handles unwanted domains and network directions. Application Control adds local context: which component may restore ads, where the rule came from, whether hosts is involved and why the block exists.
Shield Journal and decisions
Shield Journal shows events as a table: time, event, app, process, action, reason and path. The user can allow, ask, watch or prepare a block, and can review blocked apps in a separate window.
Windows 7 and five languages
If hosts is busy on Windows 7, AURUS shows a soft warning instead of failing. New Application Control windows, AdBlock rules, Shield reports and warnings are connected to the language core for RU, EN, DE, PL and ZH.
The idea is simple: AURUS should not hide what is happening or make dangerous decisions silently. It shows the reason, history and available actions while the user stays in control.
